A special on my adventures in screen printing. Also, this week, my school let us out early while Sophomores took an exit exam, so I hung out with my friends. :)
The week before, I put some emultion (some weird light-sensitive goo) on the screen. This week was spent getting the design on it by exposing it to a whole lotta light with the design on top, then scrubbing the unhardened emultion off, to reveal the design.
When scrubbing gets too tiresome you take it through a power wash (basically sort of hose it down)
Then you get this! :)
After drying the screen, you tape up the edges so the ink doesn't seep through when printing.
Using the print machine (used mostly just for keeping the screen centered to the fabric when printing) and a squegee you pour paint onto your screen and squeegee the paint up and down so it seeps through.
Ta-da! :) After that you just take it through a big heat machine which hardens the ink and you're all set.
The finished products. ♥
HANG OUT DAY:
We had sushi and window shopped and ate tons of chocolate easter eggs. XD;
